Improv: finding joy in uncertainty
“Improv: finding joy in uncertainty”
“In the beginner’s mind there are many possibilities, but in the expert’s there are few.” -Shunryu Suzuki
I want to offer simple improvisational games and experiments, and I want to inspire a hands-on, explorative and experiential practice for gestalt practitioners.
It’s my first time doing this work online and I’m looking forward to your participation and willingness to play and share your experiences.
We will explore improvisation/games and aim for a playful, trusting and brave practice and meet each other with our friendly, creative curiosity. What is stopping us from being fully alive, intuitive in the moment? We will practice being in the not-knowing and improvising in the spirit of a beginner’s mind. Sometimes it can even be fun to play outside the comfort zone.
The workshop is based on a synthesis of Theatre Games improvisational games (Viola Spolin) and Gestalt method. Spolins games require full focus from your senses to keep you so busy you will access the spontaneous creativity and the unexpected. So we can tap into the implicit knowledge we all possess.

Eva Wendt – Sweden
I have a background in theatre and in gestalt work since 2006. I work with a synthesis between the two that I call ImproGestalt -a method combining improvisational games, script, movement and gestalt method.
I’m a freelance director/actor and artistic director of an experimental theatrecompany, SPECT. scenkonst, that work based on ImproGestalt®. I had my formal training in gestalt method from GIS-International, Denmark and directing training from Malmö Theatreschool, Sweden.
The method is also a tool for personal growth/creative change and it is used to develop improvisational skills for artists, leadership training and training for gestalt therapists.
