But where does an ending begin?
And when does a beginning touch the edge of an ending?

Within us, endings stir excitement — and beginnings awaken fear.
Beginnings overwhelm; endings leave us in awe.

Picture flowers, scorched by snow, holding their form.
Picture them again, rising from the ashes.
Life pulses even in the ruins.
The end is everywhere, and so is the beginning —
both are miracles of this world.

This workshop is an invitation to walk the cycles of life.
To follow the eternal rhythm of contact.
To explore meaning together —
and to co-create a living synthesis of beginnings and endings, stretching through space and time.

Open to adults ready to create, to witness, and to share.
The final creation will be presented to an audience as the shared work of all participants

We will aim at grounding and defining the qualities the “psychic topos” has whithin each one of us, a visionary safe space. The workshop is tailored so each participant from their place, can explore the cycle of beginning and ending, according to their personal experiences. It will include work in small groups, movement, and any kind of performance (playing an instrument, singing, etc). There is a simple structure that will be presented to the participants, who are free to shape it in any other way if needed, and which will be presented to an audience (people who have been registered in other Humans of Gestalt conference). The presentation and call for feedback from the audience will be included in the three hour workshop.

Anna Mertzani – Greece

A Greek Gestalt psychotherapist, with a background in pre-school education, photography and Acting studies and an M.A in Child Care, Law and Practice focused on child abuse cases, The last five years, her psychotheraputic experiece has expanded in the refugee field as a co-ordinator of an interdisciplinary team of mental health professionals. The Gestalt approach has been a big part of her life for twenty years now, since her first session as a client herself looking for support and awareness on levels she couldn’t comprehend back then. Today, she is more than grateful to the Gestalt community and to herself for being a part of this, by all means, continuous journey of understanding the complexity and immense potential human beings have, dealing with either existential issues or any kind of trauma and crisis in their lives.
